On this page
This website is maintained by VERMANCO, Advocates & Legal Consultants, for the purpose of providing information about the firm and about the law in general terms. Please read this disclaimer before using the website.
The Bar Council of India Rules
Under the Bar Council of India Rules framed under the Advocates Act, 1961, advocates in India may not solicit work or advertise, directly or indirectly. The information on this website is provided only to those who seek it, and is limited to information about the firm, its advocates, its chambers and its areas of practice, together with general legal information.
By accessing this website, you acknowledge that you are seeking information about VERMANCO of your own accord, and that there has been no solicitation, advertisement, invitation or inducement of any kind by the firm or any of its members.
Not legal advice
Nothing on this website, including descriptions of areas of practice, articles, frequently asked questions and links to statutes, is legal advice or a legal opinion. Legal advice depends on the specific facts of a matter and the law as it applies to them at the time. You should not act, or refrain from acting, on the basis of anything on this website without obtaining advice on your own circumstances.
No advocate–client relationship
Visiting this website, sending an email to the firm, or submitting a contact, consultation or research form does not create an advocate–client relationship. The firm acts for a client in a matter only after it has confirmed that it is free to do so, the scope of work and fees have been agreed in writing, and, where the firm is to appear in court, a vakalatnama has been executed.
Communications through this website
We treat enquiries in confidence. However, until we have confirmed that we can act for you, please share only the information needed to describe the matter and identify the other parties involved. If we already advise or act for another party to the matter, we may be unable to assist you, and we may be unable to consider information you have sent.
Accuracy and currency of information
The law changes through legislation, rules, notifications and judgments. Since 1 July 2024, for example, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023 have replaced the Indian Penal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Indian Evidence Act. While we take care to keep this website accurate, we do not warrant that its content is complete, current or free from error, and material may not reflect the most recent developments.
References to statutes link to official sources such as the India Code portal. The official text of a statute, as amended and as published by the Government of India or the relevant state government, prevails over any summary on this website.

To the extent permitted by law, VERMANCO and its advocates are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of this website or from reliance on any material published on it.
